Q. Three incandescent bulbs of 100 W each are connected in series in an electric circuit. In another circuit, another set of three bulbs of the same wattage are connected in parallel to the same source.
(a) Will the bulb in the two circuits glow with the same brightness? Justify your answer.

(b) Now let one bulb in both the circuits get fused. Will the rest of the bulbs continue to glow in each circuit? Give reason.

Q. a) An organic compound A with molecular formula C2H4O2 on reaction with Sodium metal Na releases a gas B which readily catches fire. An on reacting with Ethanol in the presence of concentrated Sulphuric acid gives a sweet-smelling substance C used in making perfumes.

Write a balanced chemical equation to represent these two reactions and identify   the compounds A, B and C.

(b) Differentiate between metals and non metals?

Q. An object of height 2.5 cm is placed at a distance of 15 cm from the optical centre ‘O’ of a convex lens of focal length 10 cm. Draw a ray diagram to find the position and size of the image formed. Mark the optical centre ‘O’, principal focus F and height of the image on the diagram.

Q. Atoms of eight elements A. B. C. D, E, F. G and H have the same number of electronic shells but a different number of electrons in their outermost shell.
